AUSTIN - On Monday, January 9 at 2:00 PM Central, the Texas Comptroller will issue the Biennial Revenue Estimate (BRE), detailing how much money the Texas Legislature can invest in state services as they write the 2023-2024 budget. Shortly after the Comptroller finishes, Every Texan will host a press and legislative briefing with budget and tax experts Eva DeLuna Castro and Dick Lavine. Based on Monday's estimate of the state revenue, Every Texan will outline how Texas can protect and expand access to public schools, college, health care, and other state services, and explore new revenue sources in the long run. The presentation of our BRE analysis and policy recommendations will be livestreamed to Facebook Live. An exclusive Q&A for members of the media and Legislature will follow the presentation.
